Fellowship

All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Proper honour must be shown to all, especially to those who share our faith and to pilgrims.”

Rule of St. Benedict, Chapter 54, “The Reception of Guests”

Hospitality is at the heart of the Christian life. As a parish church we strive to serve Christ in all people, welcoming everyone who steps through our doors. Whether you’re a parishioner or a first time visitor, we hope you will be enriched by our fellowship opportunities.

Sunday Coffee Hour

After our 9 a.m. Sung Mass and 11 a.m. Solemn High Mass, parishioners and visitors gather in Wheeler Hall for refreshments, pastries, and other delightful snacks. Coffee hour provides us with a time to meet, reconnect, and share in the joy of community. If you’re interested in volunteering for coffee hour you can sign-up here.

Parish Receptions

On Major Feast Days of the Church, the Hospitality Committee organizes special festive receptions. These receptions include a hearty array of food and beverages and require additional volunteer help. If you’re interested in lending a hand and volunteering for our next parish reception, please contact Ellie Simpson.

Receptions in the Narthex

Smaller intimate receptions are held in the Narthex after our monthly offering of Choral Evensong & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and weekday evening Sung Masses. A spread of desserts and sparkling refreshments are typically served.

Parish Potlucks

In Fall and Spring, a potluck is hosted in the Rectory (the rector’s on-campus residence). These potlucks are a wonderful opportunity for newcomers and longtime parishioners to connect over a hearty meal and for parishioners to share their cooking skills.

Serving Together

Beyond fellowship opportunities, we host two ministries aimed to serve our neighbors in need. Ascension’s Food Pantry provides groceries and toiletries for those in our neighborhood. St. Chrys’ Closet provides clothing and household items at no charge to over 100 clients each week. To learn more about these ministries, please visit our Serve with Us page.
