What is Anglo-Catholicism?

Anglo-Catholicism is a tradition within the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion grounded in Catholic worship, theology, and practices. The term “Anglo-Catholic” was first used in the 19th century to identify Anglicans who were interested in the teachings of the Oxford Movement. Teachings rooted in a recovery of the beauty of church worship, the importance of apostolic ministry and the sacraments, and the pursuit of holiness. 

What is the Episcopal Church?

The Episcopal Church is the U.S. member of the worldwide Anglican Communion – a global association of 38 self-governing churches that are in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury. As Episcopalians, we believe in and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection authored the world’s salvation. 

Can I receive Communion here?

The Episcopal Church is clear that any person who has been baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit may receive Communion in this Church. Please feel free to speak to a member of the clergy if you have further questions about receiving Communion.
